Ikkis is the untold true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India's youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra — the nation's highest wartime gallantry award. The title "Ikkis" (meaning 21 in Hindi) refers to his age when he achieved immortal glory on the battlefield.

The film chronicles the life of a fearless young officer who, during the Battle of Basantar in December 1971, led his tank squadron against overwhelming enemy forces. Despite his tank being hit and set ablaze, and despite being gravely wounded, 2nd Lt. Khetarpal refused to abandon his position. When his commanding officer ordered him to pull back, his legendary response echoed through history: "No Sir, I will not abandon my tank. My gun is still working and I will get these bastards."
